Northland is NZ’s most earthquake free zone   Luxury Accommodation Northland North Island www.brantomevilla.co.nz   This webpage has been posted by Brantome Villa to give potential tourists to New Zealand infomation to reasure them that it is safe to travel throughout our beautiful country.     The Christchurch earthquake has struck family’s and businesses hard, but we are thankful for the fact that all of our friends in Christchurch, are safe and well, despite having lost homes, livelihoods, and everything else that goes with it.  I can assure you, our hearts go out to those affected by these circumstances.     However I do at this point wish to take a different tack to all of the news coverage we have seen, and take great pains to point something out to our overseas readers (of which there are many!)   Christchurch is not New Zealand and New Zealand is not Christchurch!   There are towns in Canterbury not far from Christchurch that received no damage, so folks, if you’re not from here, and you were thinking of coming here 98% of NZ geographically speaking is still just fine.   Please do not mistake what I am saying to be making light of the situation, nothing could be further from the truth, but I think the impression of some people overseas is that the whole of New Zealand has been struck and brought to its knees.
